Chairs

The Church Chair was conceived for Gruntvigs Church, Copenhagen. The apparently simple design is a complex and thoughtful masterpiece. The subtle design has no right angles; each back support differs to accommodate the human spine and requires highly skilled craftsmanship in its manufacture. Acknowledged as the most influential Danish designer of the Twentieth Century, Kaare Klint's work and teaching shaped the careers of many other important designers including Poul Kjaerholm, Hans Wegner and Borge Mogensen.
